Rabbi
Mark H. Zimmerman |
We are fortunate to have as our rabbi, Mark H. Zimmerman. In addition to being a twelfth generation rabbi, Rabbi Zimmerman has supplemented his professional background with an extensive program of academic study as well as many years of experience working in the Jewish community.
After receiving a degree in sociology from the University of Florida, Rabbi Zimmerman was ordained and received his Masters Degree at the Jewish Theological Seminary in New York. He also pursued his studies in Jerusalem at the Hebrew University at Mt Scopus and at Neve Schechter, the Seminary's campus in Israel.
Throughout his career he has distinguished himself in all aspects of rabbinic service, including serving as a Religious School principal and creating many innovative family and adult education programs. |

Rabbi Zimmerman is a past president of the Southeast Region of the Rabbinical Assembly. He has also served as President of the Atlanta Rabbinical Association, as well as on the board of the Atlanta Jewish Federation, the Weber High School and the Epstein School. He has also served in several leadership capacities in the Atlanta interfaith community and as chaplain of the City of Atlanta Police Department.
Rabbi Zimmerman is married to Linda, and they have three children; Miryam, Ilana and Avi.
