Attention Parents of Young Children!
Congregation Beth Shalom has Shabbat programs for you!
Friday Night Lights is an early evening program, occuring monthly, designed to be a wonderful addition to your own Shabbat celebration. Starting at 5:30pm, kid-friendly snacks are provided while families come together for singing and storytelling. It's a friendly, casual atmosphere, perfect for stopping by on the way home from a busy day or meeting Dad on his way home from work. CBS Friday night services begin at 6:15pm. We welcome young families to drop by to bring in Shabbat with ruach and festivities.
Looking for a way to celebrate Shabbat on Saturday morning with young children (generally younger than kindergarten age)?
CBS has Tot Shabbat on a weekly basis! Coordinated and led by parent volunteers, each week has a different flair. Tot Shabbat starts Saturday mornings at 10:45 am in a classroom where both a parent and child attend together. There is a great deal of child requested Shabbat singing and dancing. The services are interactive and a unique lesson is taught each week. The topics range from God, the parsha, Shabbat and holidays. A Shabbat friendly craft or story takes place just before blessings and snack. Tot Shabbat concludes after approximately an hour upon which time the group goes to the main service where the kids are welcomed onto the bima during Adon Olam. When the main service concludes, everyone is invited to partake in a delicious oneg luncheon. It is a wonderful morning for young families and a great way to get kids into the Shabbat spirit!
